MY LATEST LETTER-TO-THE-EDITOR OF THE MORNING CALL:

Dear Editor:

The fact that the far left and the far right do not support President Barack Obama’s excellent decision to make our country safer by increasing the number of American troops in Afghanistan by 30,000 - while at the same time setting a troop withdrawal timetable - prove once again that our president is an intelligent, thoughtful moderate who has chosen the necessary, responsible steps in the effort to correct the numerous military and tactical errors that were made during the previous administration (including the unforgivable, inconceivable decision to divert our troops and our attention from capturing and/or killing the perpetrators of 9/11 in order to invade Iraq).

BIO AND LETTER OF ENDORSEMENT FOR THE JFKMI, INC GROUP:

Thanks to the fact that my father voted for Richard Nixon and my mother voted for John Kennedy in the 1960 Presidential Election, I was eight years old when I became interested in politics. When President Kennedy was assassinated three years later, I became interested in history. Due to the fact that the suspect was killed while in police custody, even at the age of eleven, the facts surrounding the assassination didn't seem to add up.

I remember being particularly disappointed the following year when the history book in my sixth grade class skipped over the assassination except to simply state that "President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, TX on 11/22/63 by Lee Harvey Oswald". It just seemed that, without the benefit of a trial, it was a little too clean and simple to someone (despite my age at the time) who was interested in getting to the truth of the matter.

After that, every time I was in a library or a bookstore, I would go to the history section. I would look in the back of the books in that section and go to the pages where the authors gave their opinions about what happened that day.

I eventually read most of the books on the subject and graduated from Rutgers University with a BA Degree in History.

In the effort to relay the information that I read in those books to the people who would never take the time to read them (younger people, in particular), I decided to write a poem - which became a song - which became a CD and a video.

It is now twelve years and seven music CDs later.

I am Et2Brute (pronounced et-tu-bru-tay) and I am proud to have dedicated much of my life to learning and spreading the truth about the JFK Assassination to those who would never have doubted the lies that have been told to the American people by those who were elected to represent us.

I am also proud to belong to JFKMI, Inc.

JFKMI, Inc. is a group of concerned citizens who are searching for the truth about the JFK Assassination. I especially like JFKMI, Inc. because it is composed primarily of people who were not yet alive when the assassination took place. Sooner or later, people meeting that description will be the only people left to discuss it. And, unfortunately for the American people, that is what the "enemies of the truth" are counting on.

Members of JFKMI, Inc - and others like them - will be needed to combat the official propaganda, to continue the search, to read the documents as they are released - and to teach the truth about the JFK Assassination.

"The Truth Becomes Folklore".

Letter-to-the-Editor of The Morning Call of Lehigh Valley, PA I sent this afternoon (I was later notified that it will be printed prior to 11/22/09 - Thank you, Morning Call!):

Sunday, 11/22, marks the 46th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Due to the fact that many of the decisions* President Kennedy made during his short time in office were highly unpopular with the “American Establishment”, and in view of the severe changes** that took place in our country immediately after the assassination, as well as the highly suspicious circumstances*** surrounding the investigation of the assassination, it is no small wonder that the Warren Commission conclusion that JFK was assassinated by a “24 year-old lone nut with communist sympathies” is still viewed by 75% of the American people as highly doubtful. ... Read More

As a result, November 22, 1963 is the date that marks the beginning of an age of mistrust in the US Government by the American people that exists to this day.

For this reason, I ask all American citizens to write to our president and congressmen in order to demand the immediate release of all government documents pertaining to the JFK Assassination.

There was no good reason to allow our “servants of the people” to hide the documents away from us for past 46 years. There is definitely no good reason to allow them to continue to do so for another 29 years.

This is not a matter of National Security. It never was.

It is - and always has been - a matter of protecting the guilty.

And it should be brought to a halt immediately.

Thank you,
E2B

* unpopular “lack of military” decisions, such as, his decision to give no US air support during the Cuban Bay of Pigs invasion; his secret agreement with the USSR to quietly pull US missiles out of Turkey in exchange for them pulling their missiles out of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis; the lack of a Kennedy response - other than a speech and an airlift - to the erection of the Berlin Wall, etc.

** severe changes, most significantly, the reversal of the beginning of a Kennedy withdrawal of a small group of CIA “advisors” and, instead, the vigorous pursuit of a war in Vietnam by Kennedy’s successor, VP Lyndon B. Johnson.

*** suspicious circumstances, such as, allowing the alleged assassin to be murdered while in police custody after two days of questioning; no notes or recordings of anything the suspect said while in custody; the hiding away of the (Zapruder) film of the assassination for more than 12 years; the locking away of all notes and testimony collected by the Warren Commission for 75 years, the disappearance and/or murders of numerous witnesses prior to - or subsequent to - giving testimony to police and/or the Warren Commission, etc.

MY LATEST FACEBOOK ENTRY:

One week from today, I will be flying to Dallas, TX for the 46th Anniversary of the JFK Assassination. I will be attending the COPA Conference throughout the weekend and observing the moment of silence on the grassy knoll at 12:30 PM Sunday, 11/22. It is a trip I have made many times - and one I will continue to make until the day the CIA and the US Government release all documents pertaining to their role in the assassination. Hope to see you there!

LETTER I WROTE TO THE EDITOR OF THE NY DAILY NEWS TODAY:

Dear Editor:

I am extremely disturbed about two unrelated articles that printed in the NY Daily News since Friday, 11/6/09.

On Friday, 11/6/09, David Hinckley - a TV critic I have always enjoyed reading - while reviewing the excellent TV show, “Mad Men” in the article titled, “Dark ‘Mad Men’ Enjoys Brightest Hour”, included the following statement: “Then during last Sunday’s episode, Lee Harvey Oswald shot President John F. Kennedy”. As a result of that statement, my opinion of Mr. Hinckley’s article was: “great show; great review; bad assumption; lack of professional journalism”.

Then, two days later, on Sunday, 11/8/09, a NY Daily News article written by Mr. Ryan McLendon, titled “Oswald Killer Fedora Hits the Auction Block”, included the statement, “”Ruby, a nightclub owner, was wearing the fedora when he shot Oswald with a snub-nosed .38 Colt Cobra two days after Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy.” Once again: bad assumption - and another example of a lack of professionalism on the part of a NY Daily News writer.

Whatever happened to the American concept of “innocent until proven guilty in a court of law”?

If you remember, as I am sure you do, Lee Harvey Oswald was murdered while in police custody in Dallas on 11/24/63 – two days after the assassination of JFK. As a result, Oswald was never granted his undeniable American right to defend himself against the charge of first degree murder in a court of law.

Despite this fact, “journalists” such as Mr. Hinckley and Mr. McLendon have the audacity to assume the man’s guilt.

For their information, if they bothered to investigate the facts instead of swallowing the “corporate line”, Lee Harvey Oswald did not murder JFK.

But whether they believe that statement or not, in the very least, they should be aware of the fact that when interviewed during the two days that he was “allowed” to stay alive after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, Oswald – on film - said the words, “I am a patsy”.

As a result, it can be assumed, if given the benefit of a trial, Lee Harvey Oswald would have pleaded innocent to the charge of murder in regards to the JFK Assassination.

Despite these undeniable facts, Mr. Hinckley and Mr. McLendon - as so many members of the mass media before them – insist on stating that Oswald is the murderer of JFK as if it is a proven fact.

Could it be that the members of the mass media are all part of a “club” of some sort that has decided to disregard the right to a fair trial - and to disregard the fact that every American is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law?

I would like to remind them, as well as all-too-many past - as well as future - newspaper article writers who are either ignorant of the facts or who are eager to earn kudos from the people who have been lying to the people of the USA for the past 46 years, to use the word “alleged assassin” when referring to Lee Harvey Oswald and the JFK murder.

Or is the concept of “innocent until proven guilty” a foreign concept to professional writers who work at the NY Daily News? I would expect this type of disregard for truth and justice from The NY Post – not from a fair, unbiased newspaper such as the NY Daily News.

Alleged!

Mr. Hinckley, the proper statement would be: “…Oswald ALLEGEDLY shot President John F. Kennedy.” And Mr. McLendon: “…two days after Oswald ALLEGEDLY assassinated President John F. Kennedy”.

“Alleged” is the correct and proper word to use in those statements. This is very basic journalism - and a very basic acknowledgment of the guaranteed rights of every American according to our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

As a patriotic American and a student of the JFK Assassination with a BA degree in history from Rutgers University, I am sick and tired of the erosion of the truth through the relentless repetition of falsehoods and asinine assumptions - and the utter disregard of the rights of the alleged assassin of our beloved 35th president.

Please acknowledge the right to a fair trial by our peers – and please use the word “alleged assassin” when referring to Lee Harvey Oswald and his alleged involvement in the murder of President Kennedy in the future.

Thank you,
E2B

AND NOW, MY FACEBOOK CLARIFICATION TO A FRIEND'S COMMENTS (CONCERNING MY CFR SUSPICIONS):

Deb,

Thank you for going to the trouble of clicking on my website to read the letter. It was too long for FB to show.

I agree with you on Zinn - excellent, courageous writer.

But on your other point, while I agree that our justice system leaves something to be desired, I believe that it is still the best in the world.

The concept of "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law by a jury of your peers" is the best there is.

I just need members of the media to stop referring to Oswald as "the assassin of JFK" (without the word "alleged") as if it is a proven fact - when he never had the opportunity to defend himself in a court of law because he was murdered while in police custody.

I suspect that, since all media members seem to be part of the Council of Foreign Relations these days, there is a conscious effort on the part of the CFR to repeat the line that "Oswald assassinated JFK" (without the word "allegedly") enough times until all the JFK Assassination witnesses are dead and the lie that there was no conspiracy (on behalf of the inner-most secret circle of CFR, Trilateral Commission and Skull & Bones members) is believed to be true by the next - unaware - generation.

That is why I go to Dealey Plaza almost every 11/22 - and why COPA holds conferences there - and why the songs I write about the JFK Assassination are based on the books written by the authors who have done the research; in the effort to keep the search for the truth about who really killed JFK - and why - alive!

-E2B

AND A 11/17/09 E2B OSWALD/"ALLEGED" ADDITION:

Yet another NY Daily News writer, sportswriter Mike Lupica - a writer I normally read and enjoy - did it again yesterday!

In his 11/16 article, "Don't Let This Monster Perform", in comparing the "Evil 9/11 Matermind" Khalid Shaikh Mohammed to Oswald, Lupica wrote: "It (Dallas Courthouse) is a block away from where Oswald was the terrorist 46 years ago this week, sitting in that window and shooting President John F. Kennedy in the head."

That makes three NY Daily News writers in the past week who have determined that Lee Harvey Oswald is guilty of murder without the benefit of a fair trial by his peers (despite a lack of proof and the fact that he was murdered while in police custody).

Unfortunately, nowadays, it seems that every main stream newspaper writer, every politician, every newscaster and every political talking head on TV is a member of the CFR - and apparently the CFR has decided that the idea of "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law" is not important anymore - as they chip away and chip away at the truth until finally "the truth becomes folklore" (title of my first CD, sorry couldn't resist).

In honor of Lee Harvey Oswald's 70th birthday last week (10/18), the lyrics from the song I wrote back in 1998, "Lee Harvey Oswald":

LEE HARVEY OSWALD
(Et2Brute)

Never had a father when he was young
David Ferrie troop leader number one
Joined the military as a US Marine
He was moved into intelligence at the age of 19
Manipulation courtesy of the CIA
Grooming young Lee Harvey for his special day
They led him right on down their golden path
Sacrificial lamb
They created his path

He was Lee Harvey Oswald

They told him he was in the CIA
And sent him off to Russia for an extended stay
Taught him Russian language
Gave him U-2 information
Spy plane shot down for a Cold War confrontation

The Russians did not know what it was that they should do
With this obvious CIA man with a mission no one knew
And when he came on back with his Russian wife
He thought he'd be rewarded with a decent life

But he was Lee Harvey Oswald

His CIA special handler met Lee upon arrival
Took him under wing
No chance of Lee's survival
They set Lee Harvey up to struggle at minimum wage
With plenty of ideas to keep his spare time engaged

Lee worked as an informant for the FBI
Continued with his life as an American spy
Back with David Ferrie, Bannister, Shaw and their Cuban friends
Distributing Cuban leaflets
Another means to Lee's end

He was Lee Harvey Oswald

Lee tried to get word out about the plot underway
A caravan was heading to Dallas to murder JFK
But he was relaying news that Hoover already knew
And there was nothing about it old J. Edgar was going to do

Lee Harvey did not realize that it was all just a game
And he had been set up to be killed and take the blame
A foot soldier only knows one thing he should do
Follow all the orders as they make their way through

He was Lee Harvey Oswald

So he went on down to work just like any other day
The murderers had re-routed the president's motorcade
They took their six best shots from three kill zone locations
Provided Lee's name and concluded the investigation

Every assassination needs a patsy to die
But something went bad wrong and Lee Harvey was taken alive
He talked for two full days
No one recorded or noted a word
It was just a matter of time before he would no longer be heard

He was Lee Harvey Oswald

Set up from the start and murdered at 24
Lee took one for the team without knowing the score
He knew his killer well
Jack Ruby was his name
They had each been given parts in this coup d' etat game

The Warren Commission committed the treasonous dirty deed
Of lying to the people
Meaningless words no one believed
Alone at the end and into his grave
Hated by the people
No one was saved.

He was Lee Harvey Oswald.

MY LATEST ENTRY IN FACEBOOK (IN ANSWER TO A FEW FRIENDS' QUESTIONS):

I saw Tom Waits at the Beacon Theatre in NYC twice - once in 1976 and once in 1999. Since then, I have since seen him twice in Atlanta (with my daughter) - in 2006 and 2008 (second time: Glitter and Doom" tour). He is simply the greatest singer-songwriter of our time (and maybe all - time!)! I ordered the live concert CD (due in November).

In other news, I went to see Ian Anderson last night (for the 48th time since 1971) at The Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ. Another great show! I even dragged Walt Gajewski to the concert - first time he has seen him since 1974!

As for the SF Giants: they had a very good season - just missed the playoffs. They have some great young ballplayers (Lincecum, Cain, Sandoval, etc)! Wait until next year! Until then, for me: it is now officially football season! Go NY Giants!

THE SOLD OUT TOUR OF EUROPE AND THE US
IN THE SUMMER OF 2008

TOMWAITS.COM TO GO LIVE ON 10/12

TOM WAITS is set to release Glitter and Doom Live, a collection of outstanding live tracks from his 2008 sold out US and European tour. This two CD set contains 17 live recordings from ten nights along the tour including, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Tulsa, Knoxville, Atlanta, Paris, Milan, Jacksonville, Dublin and Columbus. The second CD entitled, Tom Tales holds nearly 40 minutes of Waits quixotic ruminations on topics ranging from romantic spiders to injured vultures. The CD will also come with a booklet of live photos.

The vinyl version of Glitter and Doom Live will feature gatefold sleeve with live photos from the tour and contain all 17 tracks but no Tom Tales. Inside the LP, Anti- is providing a card w/mp3 download instructions, which will enable the buyer to download Tom Tales as well.

Musically, the live discs encapsulate Waits in all his chug, boom and steam. His shamanistic vocals, innovative arrangements, visionary lyrics, pounding rhythms and emotional melodies are all here. There are dark swampy tribal rhythms, ominous hymns, and cautionary tales all swirling around Waits’ unmistakable howl and croon. THE LATEST FROM THE GREAT INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER, GREG PALAST:

The S-Word and Dr. Kevorkian's Accountant

Health care Rx from my socialist fire department

Thursday 15 October 2009
by: Greg Palast, t r u t h o u t | Op-Ed

Tell me where it hurts, Mr. President.

What's killing you, Barack, is what's killing us all: an evil germ called "Medical Loss Ratio."

"Medical Loss Ratio" [MLR] is the fancy term used by health insurance companies for their slice, their take-out, their pound of flesh, their gross - very gross - profit.

The "MLR" is the difference between what you pay an insurance company and what that insurer pays out to doctors, hospitals and pharmacists for your medical care.

I've totted it up from the raw stats: The "MLR," insurance companies' margins, is about to top - holy mama! - a quarter trillion dollars a year. That's $2.7 trillion over the next decade.

Until the 1990's, insurers skimmed only about a nickel on the dollar for their "service," Wendell Potter told me. Potter is the CIGNA insurance company PR man who came in from the cold to tell us about what goes down inside the health insurance gold mine. Today, Potter notes (and I've checked his accuracy), porky operators like AIG have kicked up their Loss Ratio by nearly 500 percent.

The industries' slice is growing to nearly a quarter of your insurance bill. All of it just paperwork and profiteering.

President Obama is never going to pull the insurance company piggies from a trough this big, especially when the industry has made room for Congressional snouts.

So what's the Rx? Easy: Kill the pigs and call the fire department.

The only solution to Loss Ratio piggery is to kill the pigs: eliminate health insurers from the health industry entirely.

We can't cure our ills, as our president has attempted, by attacking the problem ass-backwards. No, Mr. Obama, we don't need HEALTH INSURANCE for everyone, we need HEALTH CARE for everyone. There's a giant difference. Instead of concentrating on PAYMENT, we need to focus solely on providing the health SERVICE.

From my London days writing for The Guardian, I can tell you the British do NOT have national health insurance. They have a National Health Service.

The government builds hospitals, hires doctors and, when you need the service, you just go and get it. It's kind of like the fire department. When your house is on fire, you don't call your fire insurance company, you call THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. We care first about the service, not the payment.

The British government hires the doctors, like firemen, and Brits use them, like firemen, as they need them.

It works. My mother-in-law, a nurse, on a visit to England, was stunned at the speed, quality and absence of mad paperwork to fix her broken arm.

But, you might say, that's, that's SOCIALISM! Well, yes, it is. And I'm not afraid to use the S-word: Socialized Medicine. Just like America's Socialized Fire Departments. (Fun fact: socialized, i.e. publicly funded, fire departments were 'invented' by the revolutionary Ben Franklin.)

And Yes We Can get socialized medicine passed into law.

Really. It's simple: we sneak it in with the kids.

We can learn from Lyndon Johnson's sale of Socialist Medicare. Johnson knew that no one could argue that Granny do without a doctor. Can the "Pro-Life" Republicans now tell us that pregnant moms and children ages 0 to 3 should be denied care? Therefore, to the Medicare program for those 65-or-older, we simply add "Kiddie Care," for those from Negative 9 months through age 3.

But instead of the wallet-busting Medicare system, in which doctors and hospitals are paid for each suture, bag of blood and pat on the head, Kiddie Care will be provided by Kiddie Care Service salaried doctors.

How do we get doctors (who now AVERAGE $240,575 a year) to take well-paid, but not pig-paid, posts? We grab'm while they're young. We pay doctors the full cost of their medical education; and we treat them as humans during internship, not as in the current system where interns are treated as medi-slaves. In return for the public paying for their medical education, the public gets the young doctors' ten-year commitment to work for the health service at a reasonable salary.

That's not my invention. The free-education idea for staffing a national health service had long ago been proposed by that wily old dog Ted Kennedy. (Damn, we miss him.)

Once the first wave of three-year-olds are about to turn four and their families face having to buy them health insurance, these millions of parents will become an unstoppable army of lobbyists screaming for the extension of Kiddie Care to age four, then to age five, then to age six and so on. Get it?

Yes, Mr. Limbaugh, I am another bleeding heart trying to sneak socialized medicine into America. Yes, I am trying to rid us of the "free-market" insurers who are causing the bleeding. Health insurers are as useful to our health care system as a bicycle is useful to a goldfish.

Free-Market Fantasia

There ain't no such thing as a "free market" in medical care, as there is a free market in food. You can eat peanut butter instead of dining at Maxime's. But you can't tell the surgeon, "No thanks, I can't afford a new kidney this week - I'll just have a broken arm."

A free-market for-profit insurance system means that, when you need a new pancreas, your fate is left to an insurance company computer programmed by Franz Kafka, Dr. Kevorkian and his accountant. It's you versus the Medical Loss Ratio. Good luck.

In olden days, doctors would attach leeches to suck a patient's blood. Today, we have insurance companies' Medical Loss Ratio. Both can kill you. If Obama and America want to end this sickness in the body politic, start with Dr. Kennedy's sure-fire cure: a national health service for kids - and get rid of the bloodsuckers.

***

I Quit: A Personal Note

I learned of the Kiddie Care solution during my brief and ill-starred tenure at the Center for Hospital Administration Studies at the University of Chicago "Billings" Hospital. I couldn't make up that name. Years later, they hired Michelle Obama as their vice president for community affairs.

In my time, three decades ago, "Billings" handled the affairs of that poor community by shipping the uninsured, sometimes bleeding, to poor-folks hospitals. One wounded patient died on the poverty shuttle.

I quit, and swore that one day I'd write about it. I just did.

FRIENDS:

AFTER A LONG ABSENCE FROM THE STUDIO, THIS SATURDAY I AM DRIVING TO GUY AND GRACE'S HOUSE/STUDIO TO RECORD A NEW SONG: "THANK YOU GOD".

IT MAY BE THE LAST SONG ET2BRUTE AND THE CONSPIRACY EVER RECORDS.

I NO LONGER NEED TO WRITE AND RECORD ANTI NEO-CON SONGS BECAUSE WHEN PRESIDENT OBAMA WON IN NOVEMBER, WE WON - AND THE BUSH FAMILY IS FINALLY OUT!

I HAVE WRITTEN MANY DOZENS OF JFK ASSASSINATION-RELATED SONGS - AND THERE MAY BE ONE OR TWO OF THEM LEFT IN MY HEAD, BUT I THINK I HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN THE GREATEST JFK ASSASSINATION-RELATED SONGS EVER WRITTEN (HE SAID MODESTLY)!

AND I HAVE WRITTEN MANY LOVE SONGS - BUT I MAY NOT HAVE ANY LEFT.

SO, I AM GOING TO RECORD A SONG THAT GIVES THANKS TO GOD - AND I WILL BE ADDING IT AS A BONUS TRACK TO THE LATEST VERSION OF THE E2B CD "FULL CIRCLE" - AND I WILL BE SENDING IT TO WHOMEVER WRITES TO ME AND ASKS FOR IT.

THANK YOU TO THE MANY E2B FANS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED OUR EFFORTS OVER THE YEARS - AND KEEP SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH!

AN EMAIL FROM A GOOD FRIEND AND FELLOW-JFK ASSASSINATION RESEARCHER, CARL WILLIAMS, ABOUT HEALTH CARE:

Below is a dialogue with a conservative friend who is ...well rather blasé about people who are left out because of rejected insurance claims.

I offer it as merely food for thought.
Carl

------ Forwarded Message
From: Carl Williams <wcarl@att.net>

To: Ron
Subject: Ron, a friend comments re: your response to our $200,000 medical bill

Ron,
I recently emailed an old friend who, like you, is “comfortable.” After working many years as a freelance contractor for companies such as Disney, Columbia Records, etc., he has, as he puts it, “...the requisite three large homes and all the sports cars that go with them.”

We are close enough friends that I shared with him how, after Gayle and I faithfully paid insurance premiums our entire adult lives, Gayle’s $200,000 in medical bills were rejected by our insurance company. I also sent along your defense of the insurance industry’s use of “risk selection” as a mere “matter of policy.” As you recall, you said, in part, “‘Risk Selection’ is the method by which insurance underwriters choose applicants that an insurer will accept.”

On the surface, such equations make “perfect business sense” because they protect a company’s profitability. However, such equations ignore the real people who are financially devastated as a result of being refused coverage. Ron, your defense of such policies seems a bit blasé ...especially, in light of recent congressional testimony by several insurance company doctors who implemented those policies. They delineated just how arbitrarily and unfairly their decisions were in regard to rejecting claims. They even admitted that they were rewarded in direct proportion to how aggressively they rejected larger and larger numbers of legitimate claims.

Ron, I know you can’t assess the medical legitimacy of our insurance company’s decision. Obviously, that process will have to take place in court.

Forgive me if I consider your attitude to be rather cavalier and dismissive in regard to people like Gayle and me, who are fairly typical of victims of such decisions. Frustratingly, your attitude seems to be fairly representative of many who reject a public option and/or government oversight. But, I would respectfully like to point out that if Gayle and I were citizens of virtually any other industrialized country, we would not be having to spend dozens of hours gathering affidavits from doctors nor would we have to hire a medical billing advocacy company to defend our “nest egg” from being wiped out ...an outcome that was supposedly impossible because we had the best medical coverage money could buy (not a policy that granted less coverage than we needed... as you suspected).

You also opined that, “The more I get into this subject and the more I read the more I am beginning to see that the primary cause behind the rise in health care costs has been the drive to insure too much. This expectation we have come to have that all our health care costs should be covered ...while doing far too little to improve our health and encourage us to take charge of our own destinies aimed at promoting our wellness.”

I assume by that, you mean that Gayle and I just expected way too much from our insurance provider ...that we should have simply not expected our insurance company to have to pay ...what? ...say, $150,000 of her medical bill? I suppose you believe we should just admit that the insurance company is right to accept our premium payments all these years and then, suddenly, decide not to cover our medical costs anyway?! What would you have us do, Ron? Sell our house to make up the difference?

In any event, my friend asked me specifically to send you his comments below (in red) ...which, are right after my initial introduction to the subject (in blue).

And, Ron, please be forewarned: some veterans (like my friend) have endured the Veterans Hospital System having rejected, as SOP, the existence of many service-related maladies. From denying the effects of agent orange for two decades post Vietnam, to denying Gulf War Syndrome which has been proven to be radiation poisoning. Therefore, most vets are left to seek help via the private health care system which ALSO rejects them as SOP because they have the aforementioned “pre-existing conditions.”

I offer the below snippet of dialogue between two friend as food for thought.
Respectfully,

Carl Williams

David,
I have a conservative friend with whom I shared our story of unfairly being denied health coverage in spite of having never lied on insurance forms; never missing a payment, etc. He suggested that Americans should not expect so much of our medical care be covered by insurance. He also suggested that we should all just take better care of ourselves. As if Gayle’s three simultaneous infections - - contracted from a previous medical procedure - - were the result of her not taking care of herself! Whew! People who defend the insurance industry’s proven track-record of denying coverage for arbitrary reasons are puzzling to me. There are thousands of people like Gayle and I whose similar experiences prove that insurance companies cherry-pick healthy people for coverage; reject people previously covered when they finally need insurance coverage; and reject any and all people who have a “pre-existing condition” - - which includes, in addition to many other maladies, virtually any form of cancer because they can claim that it can always come back. But, yet, many of them say, in effect, that “People should just take better care of themselves...”

Or, since my cancer came from Dow Chemical's Agent Orange, liberally sprayed in Vietnam, I could "take care of myself" and NOT go to Vietnam ... oh wait, that was 40 years go and I had NO choice in the matter and, I've been in tiptop shape ever since with NO health problems (you've seen me) !!!! So, tell your conservative friend to shove his jive-ass "Americans should take better of themselves" up his sorry ass !!!! And, yes, please send this to him, Carl !!

MY LATEST LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF THE MORNING CALL (I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT IT WILL BE PRINTED WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS):

Dear Editor:

I thought President Obama’s speech last night was thoughtful, honest, and inspiring. I believe anyone who listened to the speech with an open mind would agree. Those who didn’t listen (for whatever reason), just as those who do not find the time to vote, do not have the belated right to ruin the positive outcome and results we the people have voted for – and, as a result, insist on from the President and Congress.

MY LATEST ENTRY ON FACEBOOK:

I just sent all seven E2B CDs to John Geraghty of Ireland, who is in the middle of filming a documentary about the JFK Assassination. If anyone needs JFK Assassination-related music and lyrics, there is no better place to go! I just hope his documentary becomes a reality and outshines the bogus Vincent Bugliosi written/Tom Hanks produced/HBO "Oswald did it alone" bullshit that will be on our tubes in the near future!

HOW ABOUT THOSE GIANTS!

A Giant among men: Sanchez no-hits Padres
Giants left-hander Jonathan Sanchez threw a no-hitter in an 8-0 victory Friday night over the San Diego Padres at AT&T Park. Sanchez, who was demoted from the starting rotation two weeks ago, struck out 11 and walked none. A single error in the eighth inning prevented Sanchez from posting a perfect game. It was the fifth no-hitter in Giants history since the franchise moved West in 1958 and the first since John Montefusco achieved the feat at Atlanta in a 9-0 victory on Sept. 29, 1976.
